The following are excerpts of a tablet from Bahá’u’lláh to Mullá Muhammad Shafí.

This tablet is either written in Bahá’u’lláh’s own handwriting or that of His secretary.

At the end Bahá’u’lláh forgives some of the friends that Mullá Mohammad has mentioned in his letter to Him.

• This is the Day in which the Hidden is made manifest
• and all the prophecies of the past ages are fulfilled.
• Where is the one who will hearken to This Call
• and see with the eye of wisdom and arise with steadfastness
• and perfect proof to proclaim His Word?
• I swear by God that which The Bayán has revealed
• is now made manifest.
• In this day, it is incumbent upon all to abide by God's will;
• to be detached from self and desire,
• to observe His Will, and cling to His Commandments.
• If in this day any soul should arise to fulfill God's bidding,
• assuredly the sweet savors of his deed
• will guide that soul to this Sealed Wine.
• God willing the friends of God will achieve
• that which is the cause of their salvation and fortune.
• Beseech God that he may guide all of His servants
• to do His bidding, so that while there is time
• they will achieve that which is well pleasing unto Him.
• Thank your Lord
• that you have been the recipient of this mighty tablet.
